Washington, DC, March 27, 2007- The strong possibility of new UN sanctions on Iran, and the recent Iranian seizure of British marines in the Gulf, again highlights the importance of Gulf oil and the Strait of Hormuz. 

The attached report provides summary data on the size of Gulf oil exports, flows through the Strait, and Iran's ability to "close" the Gulf.
