The Saudi Council of Commercial and Industrial Chambers (CCIC) was
established according to the Royal Decree No. R/6, dated
30/4/1400H, as an established body (entity) concerned with joint
interests of Saudi Commercial and Industrial Chambers in the
Kingdom. The Council represents these chambers at national
and international levels and undertakes the promotion of the
private sector�s role in the national economy. The Council
began its real activities by setting up its executive body: the
General Secretariat as of 1410H, and since then it has been
realizing big strides towards achieving the assigned goals.
According to its establishing system, the CCIC�s role is mainly
focusing on the joint interests of Saudi Commercial and Industrial
Chambers in the Kingdom, pushing the progress of private sector
foreword and promotion of its role in the national economy.
The Council, given support by Allah Almighty and concerned
chambers and departments within the Kingdom, could realize
considerable achievements at different levels.
Additionally, the CCIC is considered the channel where drives of
private sector are being united, an instrument which oversees its
ambitions and an institutional which pursues realization of those
ambitions within the goals of national economy.
Mission
of Council
Missions
assigned to the CCIC are derived from the system of Saudi Chambers
of Commerce and Industry as well as from elements imposed by the
economic situation including changes which may affect the current
and future position of private sector.
The
missions can be summarized as follows

Taking
care of matters concerning the private sector, following up of
economic issues related to private sector and proposing
appropriate solutions to these issues.

Voicing
and expressing united stance of the CCIS and private sector on
generalized issues of mutual concern by making united view on
systems and regulations of economic and financial nature which
could affect the economic activity.

Explaining
policies, systems and resolutions taken by official bodies so
as to deliver accurate data to the chambers and subscribers.

Boosting
financial and human capabilities of private sector and
upgrading of its contribution in the economic activity as well
as promotion of its performance to guarantee its effective
role in socio-economic development in the Kingdom.

Introduction
and development of activities which lead to provision of
services to businessmen, encouragement of CCIC capabilities to
undertake these activities.

Representation
of commercial chambers, in all issues of mutual nature, at
local and international levels.

Boosting
capabilities of chambers and their subscribers which will
ensure upgrading capabilities of private sector and in turn,
expansion of its contribution to the national economy.

Crystallization
of views of chambers and business sector on general issues of
mutual concern.
-
Provision
of data, organization of regular conferences and specialized
symposia which bring together private sector, government
bodies or regional and international economic gatherings.

Practicing
arbitration and settlement of industrial and trade disputes if
parties agree on their referral to the CCIC, in case that the
dispute is between parties belonging to more than one chamber
or if one party is local and another one is foreigner.
