Attack at Abqaiq Oil Facility Thwarted

Terrorists in two or three
cars attempted to enter a side gate in the
outer perimeter of the Abqaiq oil refinery
in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province at about
3pm (local time) on Friday, February 24,

A gunfight erupted when the
cars were challenged by security guards and
the vehicles exploded. Gunfire was
exchanged between guards and militants for
about two hours according to a Saudi

Peninsula claimed credit for the attack and
named two of the the suicide bombers
involved; both were on a list of wanted
